Split second VR
Split second was my graduation project for The Netherlands Filmacademy. We wanted to create an experience where their wouldent be a right choice to be made.
In this experience you are driving home from work on a lonely night. When suddenly you arive on a y-junction where your conscience will be tested.
In the making of this experience I was responsible for all the 3D work. We worked with the game engine Unity and because we were making a VR experience all 3d models had to be optimized as much as possible. This was pretty different compared to working for films. I’ve learned alot from this experience and especially learned alot of optimisation techniques.
Before we started this project we already knew whe would be presenting this experience on our graduation film festival. Because of this knowledge we wanted to make sure that our experience would stand out. Thats why we already early in the process asked a production designer from our study to join our team. She designed allmost a whole car for our experience. Together with some technical gadgets, her design of the installation and our VR experience we realy tried to achieve a unique experience.
